Tata Altroz Racer Bookings Open at Dealership Level

Tata Altroz Racer is all set to go on sale in the coming weeks. Prior to its official arrival, select Tata dealers have started accepting pre-bookings for the sportier version of the hatchback with an initial sum of Rs 21,000. The product details and specifications will be officially revealed at its market launch. However, a fresh media report claims that the Altroz Racer will be offered in two variants, powered by a 118bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol engine. The motor will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Tata’s DCA (DCT – dual clutch transmission) gearbox might also be on offer.

The latest official teaser confirms that the Tata Altroz Racer will have an adjustable single-pane electric sunroof. The orange inserts on the infotainment unit and gear lever surround will add a sporty touch to its interior.

Compared to the regular Altroz, the hatchback’s new sportier version will come with an extra set of features such as ventilated front seats, HUD (head-up display), a 360-degree camera, wireless charger, automatic climate control, an updated digital cluster with new graphics, and a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Tata Altroz Racer will be painted in a dual-tone colour scheme – orange with a contrasting black roof. We have seen the model in the same paint scheme at the first edition of the Bharat Mobility Show earlier this year. The blacked-out treatment on the bonnet, wing mirrors, pillars, shoulder line, and rear door handles will enhance its sporty appearance. The dual white stripes on the bonnet and roof, along with racing flag graphics, will further differentiate it from the regular Altroz. It will have a shark-fin antenna and ‘Racer’ badging on the front fender.

When launched, the Altroz Racer will go up against the Hyundai i20 N Line, which is available within the price range of Rs 10 lakh – Rs 11.49 lakh. The hatchback’s sportier version is likely to be priced from Rs 10 lakh onwards.
