New 2024 Hyundai Alcazar, Tucson – Launch Timeline & Details

Hyundai’s Creta facelift was one of the first and largest product launches from the South Korean automaker in India this year. The company is set to update other models in its lineup, including the three-row Alcazar SUV and the Tucson SUV. The 2024 Hyundai Alcazar, currently undergoing final testing, is expected to arrive in showrooms by May or June. The Hyundai Tucson facelift, which had its global debut in late 2023, is likely to launch in India in the second half of 2024. While the exact launch dates for both SUVs are yet to be announced, here are some key details about the upcoming Alcazar and Tucson facelifts.

The facelifted three-row SUV will receive a few cosmetic updates and feature enhancements while maintaining its current engine setup. The new Alcazar will source some design elements from the Creta facelift but will have different styling for its front grille, bumper, headlamp clusters, daytime running lights (DRLs), alloy wheels, and rear taillights. Similar to the Creta, the updated 7-seater Alcazar will feature a dual-screen setup, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, and an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite. The seating layout will remain unchanged, but there will likely be a new interior theme and seat upholstery.

The 2024 Hyundai Alcazar facelift will continue to use the same engines as the current model: a 160bhp, 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine and a 115bhp, 1.5-liter diesel engine. The available transmissions will also remain unchanged from the pre-facelift version.

The facelifted Hyundai Tucson will draw its design inspiration from the all-new Santa Fe and the new Kona, featuring Hyundai’s parametric dynamics design language. The updated SUV will feature a revised front grille, new headlamps, and a fresh set of alloy wheels. With the mid-life update, the Tucson will get a sleek, curved one-piece panel that includes a touchscreen infotainment system and a digital driver’s display. The new Tucson will also come with a redesigned steering wheel, a revised center console with a new haptic control stack, and a slimmer center stack.

Under the hood, the 2024 Hyundai Tucson facelift might feature a new 160bhp, 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine to replace the existing 2.0-liter unit, while the 186bhp, 2.0-liter diesel engine will remain unchanged. The all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup with multi-terrain modes will continue to be exclusive to the top-end diesel variant.
