All-New Nissan Kicks SUV – 5 Things To Know
Nissan has revealed the all-new Kicks compact SUV ahead of its official debut at the 2024 New York Motor Show. The all-new Nissan Kicks comes with design changes and interior along with bigger dimensions. It shares several components with the Mitsubishi X-Force SUV, which is on sale in Indonesia and other markets. The new Kicks won’t be introduced in our market; however, Nissan has confirmed that it will introduce a new mid-sized SUV in 2025-26. The new SUV will be based on the alliance’s CMF-B platform that underpins the 3rd gen Renault Duster.
1. New Platform
Nissan was selling two different versions of the Kicks SUV with similar exterior design but different styling. The India-spec model was based on the B0 platform that underpins the first-gen Renault Duster, while the global-spec model is based on the V-platform that underpins the global-spec Nissan Micra and the Sunny sedan.
The second generation Kicks shares the platform, body panels, interior bits and mechanical components with the Mitsubishi XForce SUV. The XForce SUV is based on the different derivative of the Mitsubishi GS platform, which also underpins the Xpander and the Nissan Livinia MPVs in Indonesia. The all-new Nissan Kicks will be sold in both left and right-hand-drive markets and will be the brand’s entry-level SUV in North America.
2. New Design
The all-new Nissan Kicks borrows the doors, roof and other body panels with the XForce SUV. The SUV has a coupe-like tapering roofline, and chunky wheel arches with matte black body cladding all-around the body. It rides on big 19-inch alloy wheels. The front fascia comes with a newly styled grille surrounded by black-finished area and horizontal LEDs. At the back, the new SUV comes with uniquely styled LED tail-lamps connected via a black strip.
3. All-New Nissan Kicks Interior
Nissan claims that the new Kicks mid-sized SUV comes with a more premium interior. It features a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, touch-sensitive controls for HVAC and climate control, wireless charging pad and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The SUV has a double layered dashboard design that houses better quality materials and AC vents. The all-new Nissan Kicks also comes with a panoramic sunroof, which is missing on the Mitsubishi XForce.
4. ADAS
The new Kicks mid-sized SUV comes with Nissan Safety Shield 360 ADAS Suite, which offers features like automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning and high beam assist. It also has the Nissan ProPILOT Assist System, which includes steering assistance to help keep the driver centered in the lane.
5. All-New Nissan Kicks Specifications
The all-new Nissan Kicks is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 141bhp and 190Nm of torque. This engine is coupled to the latest generation of Nissan’s Xtronic transmission. Both front-wheel and All-wheel-drive configurations.
