BYD Seal Booking, Delivery Details – Variants, Range, Specs Explained

Official bookings for the highly anticipated BYD Seal electric sedan have commenced nationwide. Additionally, the carmaker has announced its role as the Official Partner and Official E-Mobility Partner for the UEFA European Football Championship 2024. Customers who pre-book the pure electric sedan before April 30, 2024, will receive a complimentary UEFA match ticket and a round-trip flight ticket from India to London.

The BYD Seal will initially arrive via the Completely Built Up (CBU) route and subsequently undergo assembly at the carmaker’s facility in Chennai. While its prices will be announced in coming days, deliveries are likely to begin in April 2024.

Variants, Range & Specs

The Seal model lineup will consist of three variants – Dynamic Range, Premium Range, and Performance. The entry-level Dynamic Range trim will be equipped with a 61.4kWh battery and a single (RWD) electric motor, offering a claimed range of 460km (WLTC). It boasts combined power and torque outputs of 204PS and 310Nm, respectively.

The Premium Range variant will feature a larger 82.5kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor, delivering 313PS and 360Nm of torque, with a claimed range of 570km. The top-end Performance variant will house the same 82.5kWh battery with dual electric motors, offering a range of 520km, and delivering peak power of 560PS and 670Nm of torque.

Charging Options

Standard features include a 7kW AC charger. Additionally, the Dynamic Range variant will offer a 110kW DC fast charging option, while the Premium Range and Performance trims will provide the option for a 150kW DC fast charger.

On-Board Features

The BYD Seal comes with a host of advanced features, including ADAS tech, a 15.6-inch rotational touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, powered and climatic front seats, a panoramic glass roof, two wireless phone chargers, front and rear USB Type-C chargers, auto-dimming IRVM, air purifier, dual-zone AC, leather upholstery, and 18-inch wheels.

Safety features are comprehensive, with 10 airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, electronic parking brake with auto hold, hill hold assist, electronic stability control, traction control, Isofix child seat anchorage, all-wheel disc brakes, rear defogger, and rain-sensing wipers as standard.

The Premium Range variant offers additional features such as larger 19-inch alloy wheels, door mirror auto tilt function, memory function for ORVMs and driver’s seat, heads-up display, 4-way power lumbar adjustment for the driver’s seat, leather seat upholstery, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Performance trim adds electronic child lock and intelligent torque adaptation control to the extensive feature set.
