After VF3 SUV, VinFast Trademarks Klara S e-Scooter In India
VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle maker, is all set to enter the Indian market in 2025. The company has already signed an MoU with the Tamil Nadu Government to establish a 400-acre EV manufacturing plant at Thoothukudi. The company has registered 3 design patents for an electric SUV, an electric scooter and an electric bicycle.
The design patent of the Vinfast VF3 supermini electric SUV has already been leaked on the Internet. This electric SUV is claimed to offer an approx range of 201km on a full charge. While the Vietnamese brand is known for its premium electric cars, it also has a range of electric scooters in the home market. Vinfast has now registered a design trademark for the VinFast Klara S in India.
The VinFast Klara S comes equipped with a hub mounted motor that is rated at 3kW. It is claimed to offer a top speed of 78kmph, which is very similar to the popular TVS iQube. The electric scooter is fitted with a 3.5kWh LFP battery, while the iQube has a Li-ion battery pack.
The VinFast Klara S electric scooter is claimed to offer a range of 194km in a single charge with a 65kg rider at a speed of 30kph. The electric scooter weighs 122kg. It rides on a 14-inch front wheel and has a low seat height of 760mm. It comes with disc brakes and 23-litres of boot space. In the home market, the e-scooter is priced at 39,900,000 Vietnamese Dong, which is equivalent to Rs 1.34 lakh.
