Updated Mercedes Benz GLA, AMG GLE 53 Coupe Launched

Mercedes-Benz has launched the GLA facelift and AMG GLE 53 Coupe facelift in India. The refreshed GLA model lineup includes three variants – GLA 200, GLA 220d 4Matic, and GLA 220d 4Matic AMG Line, priced at Rs 50.50 lakh, Rs 54.75 lakh, and Rs 56.90 lakh, respectively.

The new Mercedes Benz GLE Coupe facelift starts at a base price of Rs 1.85 crore. It’s important to note that all prices mentioned are ex-showroom, India. Both models feature minimal updates to their exteriors and interiors, while the engine configurations remain unchanged from the pre-facelift versions.

The 2024 Mercedes Benz GLA is now offered in a new Spectral Blue color scheme. It features headlamps with new internals and redesigned LED DRLs. The bumper apron and LED elements in the taillamps have been updated, and the wheel arch cladding is now finished in body color.

Inside the updated GLA, notable changes include a new AMG-spec steering wheel (available on the top-end AMG Line trim) with touch controls. The dashboard receives a carbon fiber-like insert, and the center console features new switchgear and additional storage space. The SUV’s 10.25-inch connected screens now run on the updated MBUX software, supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The digital dials offer new themes, and a 360-degree camera has been added.

The new Mercedes Benz GLA retains the same 1.3L turbo petrol and 2.0L turbo diesel engines, producing 163bhp with 270Nm and 190bhp with 400Nm, respectively. The petrol version is equipped with a 7-speed DCT gearbox and FWD, while the diesel variant comes with an 8-speed DCT transmission and the 4Matic AWD setup.

On the other hand, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE 53 Coupe facelift is powered by the same 3.0L turbo petrol engine paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and 4Matic AWD system. The engine generates 435bhp and 560Nm of torque, with an additional 20bhp and 200Nm provided by the new 48V mild hybrid tech when needed. It claims a 0 to 100kmph acceleration in 0.3 seconds and a maximum speed of 250kmph.

Externally, the GLE 53 Coupe facelift features revised headlamps and taillamps, along with a slightly tweaked front bumper. The interior showcases a new part-leather, part-Alcantara steering wheel. The model offers options like the AMG Track Pack and Acoustic Comfort Pack for buyers to choose from.
