Tata Sierra EV Launch In 2025 – More Details Emerge

The homegrown passenger car manufacturer, Tata Motors has recently launched the new Punch EV in the domestic market at a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The company won’t stop here, as it plans to launch 2 new EVs including the Curvv and Harrier before the end of this year. The big news is that the Tata Sierra will make its comeback in our market in 2025. The new Sierra will first come as an electric lifestyle SUV; however, ICE version could also be introduced.

Tata Motors had showcased the 5 door version of the Sierra concept at the 2023 Auto Expo. In fact, design patent of the new Tata Sierra EV has already been leaked on the Internet. The new lifestyle SUV will be based on the brand’s new Acti.ev platform, which underpins the new Punch EV. This platform is compatible with different body styles and differently sized vehicles. In fact, the upcoming Curvv and Harrier EV will also be based on this EV architecture.

Tata Sierra EV Concept

The leaked patent reveals that the Tata Sierra EV will share most of the styling cues from the concept. It has an aggressive front fascia, featuring a closed-off grille, a huge bumper that accommodates LED headlamp setup, a prominent skid plate and a full-width LED strip. The side profile has a boxy-styling with squared wheel arches and thick body cladding all-around the body. It has flush door handles, big glass area between C and D-pillars, and large alloy wheels.

The Tata Sierra EV will be positioned as a premium lifestyle SUV, featuring a feature-loaded interior. The dashboard layout will have a twin-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with illuminated logo, a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit and a digital instrument console. The electric SUV is likely to come with two seating configurations – the regular 5-seater with rear bench seat and the 4-seater lounge version. The Lounge variant will come with independent seats at the rear with electric adjustment feature.

New Tata Sierra Seats

The Tata Sierra EV will come equipped with several high-end features including ADAS, an electric sunroof, digital driver’s display, ambient mood lighting and individual screens for the rear occupants in the lounge variant. The company hasn’t revealed the EV specifications, but we expect it to come with a 60kWh battery pack. It is likely to offer a range of around 500km on a single charge. The new Sierra EV is also expected to receive dual-motor setup to offer AWD system.
