Renault To Launch 3 New SUVs In India – More Details Emerge

The French automaker Renault has recently gave some updates to its existing line-up to drive sales in the Indian market. The company has also unveiled its ambitious plan for the highly competitive Indian automotive market. Renault has announced a substantial €3 billion investment, which will be utilised to increase the localisation levels and bringing in new models in the country. Adding to it, the company has announced to launch 5 new cars and SUVs in the Indian market in the next 3 years.

New-gen Renault Kiger, Triber

Renault has confirmed that it will introduce the next-gen Kiger compact SUV and the Triber MPV. The exact launch timeline is yet to be revealed, but a possible launch in 2025-26 can’t be ignored. The new models will continue to be based on Renault’s CMF-A modular architecture that underpins the existing cars. This architecture could be tweaked to offer better protection. The new models will come with significantly revised styling and all-new feature-loaded interior. Both models are likely to retain the existing 1.0L 3-cylinder NA petrol and 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engines.

New Renault Duster & 7-seater Bigster

Renault has officially announced that the 3rd generation Duster SUV will be launched in our market in 2025. Adding to it, the 7-seater version of the SUV will also be launched in the country by 2025-26. Both SUVs will be based on the Renault-Nissan alliance’s CMF-B modular platform, which will also underpin Nissan’s upcoming mid-sized SUV and the 7-seater SUV. The new models will receive modern interior with several high-end features including ADAS tech. Adding to it, the new Duster will come with a new 1.6L strong hybrid powertrain that offers a combined power output of 140hp. It could also receive a 1.2L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine with a mild hybrid tech. This engine will also support AWD system.

The French automaker will also launch the new electric car in the country in 2026. The new electric car is expected to be a localized version, possibly the Kwid EV. The electric hatchback will be based on the heavily modified CMF-A platform. This entry-level electric hatchback will come as an affordable alternative to the likes of the Tata Tiago EV, MG Comet and the Citroen eC3.
