New Hyundai Creta Petrol, Automatic Variants In-Demand
Over a week has passed since the new Hyundai Creta facelift was introduced, entering the market with a starting price of 11 lakh. Hyundai has disclosed that there is substantial demand for the petrol and automatic variants of the SUV, constituting 55 percent and 40 percent of the total bookings, respectively. Meanwhile, the diesel variants make up 45 percent of the orders received thus far. Impressively, the new Creta has accumulated 25,000 bookings to date. Leveraging its strong SUV product portfolio, which includes eight models, Hyundai anticipates these offerings to contribute 65 percent to its overall sales in 2024.
In comparison to the pre-facelift version, the entry-level and top-end variants of the new Creta are now approximately Rs 13,000 and Rs 80,000 more expensive, respectively. The updated model lineup boasts 19 variants and provides customers with five engine and gearbox options.

Creta N Line Launching Soon
Following the introduction of the updated Creta, Hyundai is set to unveil its sportier N Line version by mid-2024. Positioned to compete with the Kia Seltos’ GTX+ and X Line variants, the new Hyundai Creta N Line will be equipped with the 1.5L turbo petrol engine and will offer both the 7-speed DCT and 6-speed manual gearboxes. The engine is capable of delivering a claimed power of 160PS and 253Nm of torque. The N Line variant will feature distinctive ‘N Line’ elements, both inside and out, setting it apart from the regular Creta.
Creta EV In Early 2025
Hyundai is also in the process of testing an electric iteration of the Hyundai Creta, slated to go on sale in early 2025, with a potential debut towards the end of this year. Reports suggest that the Hyundai Creta EV will be equipped with a 45kWh battery pack sourced from LF Chem. While smaller than the anticipated battery options for the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX (48kWh and 60kWh), the Creta EV is expected to borrow its electric motor from the global-spec Kona EV.
