Maruti, Hyundai – First Car Launch In 2024

2024 is just a few days away, and several new cars are set to hit the roads across different segments. India’s two major car manufacturers, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motor India, are gearing up to kick off the new year with the launch of the new-generation Swift hatchback and the updated Creta, respectively.

Scheduled for release on January 16, 2024, the 2024 Hyundai Creta facelift will come with the improved styling and an upmarket interior. Under its hood, a new 160bhp, 1.5L petrol engine, inherited from the Verna sedan, takes center stage. This gasoline motor will be mated to either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. Notably, the updated Creta’s lineup will retain its existing 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engines.

Elevating the driving experience, the Level 2 ADAS tech makes its debut, accompanied by a distinctive two-spoke steering wheel, a dashcam similar to the Exter micro SUV, a revamped climate control panel, dual-zone climate control and soft-touch materials. On the exterior, the new Creta will feature a new grille, Palisade-inspired headlamps, horizontally placed LED DRLs, newly-designed alloys and taillamps with a new LED connected lightbar.

Following suit, the highly anticipated new-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is set to grace the market in February 2024. In the Japanese market, this revamped hatchback boasts three trims – XG, Hybrid MX, and Hybrid MZ – complemented by two engine options: a 1.2L petrol and a 1.2L petrol hybrid. The latter, comprising a gasoline unit and a DC synchronous motor, flaunts an impressive fuel efficiency of 24.5kmpl. However, the Indian iteration of the Swift will omit the CVT gearbox and ADAS tech.
