6 Confirmed SUVs To Launch In 2024 – Taisor, Curvv, Creta
Kia India will release the prices of the Sonet compact SUV in January 2024. Similarly, Hyundai will also introduce the new Creta facelift on January 16, 2024. Mahindra will also launch the XUV300 facelift & the Thar 5-door, while Tata Motors will have the long-awaited Curvv SUV Coupe. Here is a list of upcoming top 6 new SUVs to be launched in the Indian market in 2024.
Kia Sonet 2024
Interested buyers can book the new Sonet online or at authorised Kia dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 20,000. The new model will be offered in 3 trim levels – HT Line, GT Line and X Line. The SUV also comes equipped with Level 1 ADAS technology that offers 10 autonomous functions including lane keep assist, forward collision warning and avoidance assist, driver attention warning, lane departure warning, high beam assist & leading vehicle departure alert. It comes with a 360-degree camera, a blind view monitor, a tyre pressure monitoring system, hill start assist control, six airbags, VSM, ESC, and a rearview camera with guidelines.
In terms of features, the subcompact SUV gets a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 7-speaker Bose premium sound system, a 4-way power adjustable driver seat, an electric sunroof & a smart pure air purifier. It is offered with 3 engine options – 82bhp, 1.2L NA petrol, 118bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol and 114bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, a 6-speed automatic, and a 7-speed DCT automatic.
Hyundai Creta 2024
The Korean automaker, Hyundai will launch the new Creta facelift on January 16, 2024. The updated model will receive significant design changes and an all-new interior with several advanced features. It will receive several India-specific changes and will have different styling compared to the global spec model. The SUV will have revised front fascia and a new tailgate design with H-shaped connected LED tail-lamps. Inside the cabin, the SUV will have a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument console, ventilated seats & a panoramic sunroof. Similar to the new Seltos, the Creta facelift will also receive advanced driver assistance system. It will be offered with 3 engine options – a 1.5L NA petrol, a 1.5L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor
Toyota will introduce a new compact SUV in 2024. Rumoured to be called the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, the new SUV will be based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The SUV will receive some Toyota-specific design changes to differentiate itself from the Fronx crossover. It is likely to be offered with two engine options – a 1.0L turbocharged petrol and a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer.
Mahindra XUV300 facelift
The homegrown automaker, Mahindra will give a significant update to the XUV300 sub-4 meter SUV in the country in the first quarter of 2024. The SUV will receive several features including the segment-first panoramic sunroof. Adding to it, the XUV300 facelift will also receive advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) technology. It will have a larger freestanding infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay support, a 360 degree camera, a digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry & go, a TPMS, etc. It will be offered with 3 engine options – a 110PS, 1.2L turbo petrol, a 130PS, 1.2L turbo petrol GDI and a 117PS, 1.5L turbo diesel.
5-Door Mahindra Thar
The homegrown UV maker, Mahindra will launch the long-wheelbase version of the Thar lifestyle SUV in 2024. The SUV will be based on the ladder-frame chassis that underpins the Scorpio-N. The new Mahindra Thar 5-door will target SUV buyers looking for a practical vehicle that can be used for daily travel as well as for off-roading. It will come with a factory-fitted single-pane sunroof, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, etc. The engine options will include a 2.0L turbo petrol and a 2.2L turbo diesel.
Tata Curvv SUV Coupe
Tata Motors has announced to launch the long-awaited Curvv SUV Coupe in the Indian market in 2024. The new SUV Coupe will be built upon Tata’s Generation 2 EV architecture, designed to accommodate various body styles and powertrains. This electric SUV Coupe will come with larger batteries, a dual motor setup and an AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) system. The electric version is likely to get a bigger battery pack, which is expected to offer a range of around 400-500km in a single charge. It is likely to get a new 1.2L T-GDi petrol engine that produces 125PS and 225Nm of torque.
