New Renault Duster 2024 Leaked – Hyundai Creta Rival

The much-awaited new Renault Duster 2024 model is scheduled to make global debut on November 29, 2023. Ahead of the official debut, clear images of the third-generation Duster SUV have been leaked online. For people not in the know, the global model will be first introduced under Renault’s sister brand – Dacia.

The new generation Dacia Duster is reportedly to be launched in Europe sometime early next year; however, the India-spec model will be introduced in 2025. Nissan will also have its own version of the SUV, which is also expected to arrive in 2025. It will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor and the Honda Elevate.

The leaked images confirm that the third generation Duster shares its styling cues from the Bigster concept, which will also enter the production-line by 2025. The Bigster concept previews a 7-seater SUV, which will be positioned as an affordable alternative to the likes of the Skoda Kodiaq and the Ford Endeavour/Everest.

The new-gen Renault Duster will be larger than the outgoing model and is expected to measure around 4.4 meters long. The bigger dimensions will allow Renault engineers to create more space inside the cabin. In the new avatar, the SUV offers rugged styling with massive body cladding, usable roof and sporty design elements.

Similar to the Bigster concept, the new Dacia Duster has Y-shaped LED daytime running lights in the headlights. The headlights are nearly connected by the chrome elements on the signature Dacia grille. The lower bumper accommodates rugged body cladding, larger air dam and circular fog light units. A flattened bull-bar type bumper inserts and a prominent silver skid plate gives it a rugged look.

The SUV comes with the large squared-off wheel arches, prominent roof rails and roof integrated spoiler, which also has resemblance with the Bigster concept. It has the tapering rear quarter glass, which is similar to the outgoing model. The side profile comes with new blacked-out alloy wheels, a unique kink in the cladding below the rear doors, and blacked out shadow-line below the mirrors. At the back, the new Duster gets V-shaped tail-lights, dual-tone lower bumper and a completely redesigned tailgate design.

New Duster Specs

The new-gen Duster is built on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-B modular platform that underpins the new Captur and the Nissan Juke. The SUV will offer more refined and spacious interior. If reports are to be believed, the new Duster will come with 3 engine options in global markets – a 120bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol, a 140bhp, 1.2L petrol with hybrid tech and a 170bhp, 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine. The 170bhp engine will be flex-fuel compliant and will make the new Duster the most powerful SUV in its category.

New Duster Specs

The India-spec model is likely to come with a strong hybrid powertrain. In fact, Renault is also exploring plug-in hybrid version for the Indian market. The regular version is most likely to be offered with a 1.0L turbo petrol engine.
