New-Gen Renault Duster 5/7-Seater SUV Launch Timeline

Earlier this year, the Renault-Nissan alliance unveiled an ambitious strategy aimed at developing, manufacturing, selling, and exporting six innovative models in India. This comprehensive plan encompasses four SUVs, including the highly anticipated new-generation Renault Duster in both 5 and 7-seater configurations, as well as Nissan’s SUVs based on the Duster platform.

Additionally, the lineup includes two A-segment electric vehicles. Based on the acclaimed Dacia Bigster SUV, the upcoming Renault Duster is ready to make its world debut in Portugal on November 29, 2023, with its Indian launch scheduled for 2025.

The third-generation Duster, in its 5-seater iteration, is set to face stiff competition from popular mid-size SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Hyryder, and Volkswagen Taigun. On the other hand, the 7-seater variant will contend with formidable rivals like the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and Hyundai Alcazar. Undergoing a generational transformation, the Duster will undergo extensive design enhancements, feature upgrades, and adopt new underpinnings. Notably, the SUV will increase in size, as revealed by leaked patent images.

Renault Duster 2024 Specs

The production-ready version showcases a sleek grille, Y-shaped headlamps, and a front bumper with a distinctive flattened bull-bar and vertically placed air vents on each side. Along its sides, the new Renault Duster mirrors the Bigster’s design with squared-off wheel arches, roof rails, and blacked-out ‘B’ and ‘C’ pillars. Patent images also reveal ten-spoke alloy wheels, while the rear profile is defined by distinctive haunches and V-shaped taillamps.

Globally, the new Renault Duster will offer three engine options – a 120bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol, a 140bhp, 1.2L petrol hybrid, and a 170bhp, 1.3L turbo petrol (flex-fuel compliant in the top trim). With the introduction of the potent 170bhp engine, it stands as the most powerful Duster ever produced. Renault India is exploring strong hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain options for the new Duster.
