New Toyota Vellfire MPV – Exterior, Interior, Specs (Expected)

The all-new Toyota Vellfire and Alphard luxury MPVs are ready to make their debut in Japan in June 2023. Prior to their official unveiling, both models have been leaked on the web and we got hands on their major design updates. One must note that Vellfire is also available in the Indian market, but its new-generation model won’t make its way here anytime soon. Let’s take a look at key changes of the new 2024 Toyota Vellfire.

Significantly improved design

The biggest update has been made to its underpinning. The new Vellfire has been designed on the TNGA-K platform that also underpins the Lexus LM. You can notice significant cosmetic updates including the humongous 6-slat grille, chrome accents around the windows, sharper taillamp clusters with chrome treatment, a large Vellfire badging and the brand’s logo on the tailgate, and a large rear spoiler with a chrome border. While the split projector headlamps are merging with the grille, the front windscreen is merging with the roof.

2024 Toyota Vellfire features

What could be inside the cabin?

Interior details of the new Toyota Vellfire are not available at the moment. Though, it’s likely to retain the existing set of features and interior layout.

Powertrain details

For power, the 2024 Toyota Vellfire will use the 2.5L petrol hybrid setup delivering multiple power outputs (that will vary market-wise).

Toyota’s Plan For India

Toyota Kirloskar Motor will bring in the re-badged Maruti Suzuki Fronx compact crossover in the second half of 2023. While the carmaker hasn’t revealed its official name, it’s likely to be called Toyota Raize or Taisor. A few cosmetic changes will be made to Toyota’s compact crossover, which are likely to be inspired by the Toyota Yaris Cross. Under the hood, the model will feature the 1.0L Boosterjet turbo petrol and 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engines making 100bhp with 147Nm and 90bhp respectively. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual, a 5-speed AMT and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
