Hyundai Exter Exterior, Interior, Engine – What to Expect?

Hyundai Exter, the new micro SUV from the South Korean automaker, will go on sale in India on 10th July 2023. Its bookings are already underway and the model has been fully revealed via official images. Once launched, the mini SUV will go head-to-head against the Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Here’re all key details of the upcoming new Hyundai small SUV that we know till date.

Hyundai Exter Variants, Prices (Expected)

The new micro SUV from Hyundai will be made available in five trims – EX, S, SX, SX (O) and SX (O) Connect. The base variant is likely to cost around Rs 5 lakh or Rs 5.50 lakh and the top-end variant might be priced around Rs 10 lakh.

Variant-wise features of the new Hyundai small SUV are yet to be revealed. Though, the carmaker has confirmed that the micro SUV gets 6 airbags as standard fitment along with the segment-first electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill assist control, vehicle stability management, dashcam with dual camera and burglar alarm. Its safety kit also includes 3-point seat belt and seatbelt reminder for all seats, ABS with EBD, keyless entry, rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera and automatic headlamps. Hyundai Exter Design, Colours

The small SUV features a parametric design grille, projector headlamps in square-shaped housing, H-shaped LED DRLs and clamshell bonnet with black element at the front. The higher trims will get alloy wheels and an electric sunroof. At the back, it has H-shaped LED taillamps, a flat tailgate design and rear bumper with black cladding and pronounced faux silver skid plate.

The Exter will come in 6 monotone and 3 dual-tone colour schemes namely Ranger Khakhi (new), Cosmic Blue, Atlas White, Fiery Red, Titan Grey, Starry Night, Ranger Khakhi with Abyss Black, Cosmic Blue with Abyss Black and Atlas White with Abyss Black.

Hyundai Exter Petrol Engine

Hyundai’s new micro SUV shares its underpinning with the Grand i10 Nios hatchback and Aura compact sedan. Besides this, the platform will also be borrowed from its younger siblings. The Exter SUV is likely to come with the 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine and two gearbox options – a 5-speed manual and an AMT. The setup delivers a peak power of 83bhp and 114Nm of torque. The mini SUV will also be available with CNG fuel option.
