Citroen C3 Aircross SUV Unveiled – Key Details In 5 Quick Points
The Citroen C3 Aircross SUV has finally made its world debut in India today. It will be the fourth offering from the French automaker and here it will be put up against the cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder. Its market launch will happen in the second half of 2023. Interestingly, the new Citroen SUV will be offered with 5 and 7-seats configuration options.
Design Details
Design and styling of the new Citroen SUV is heavily inspired by the C3 hatchback. Upfront, it features a chrome grille with piano black inserts and headlamp clusters with split setup and Y-shaped DRLs. The alloy wheels have X-shaped design (reserved for higher trims), but design after the C-pillar is different from its hatch sibling. The front bumper, which has brushed aluminum finish, features dedicated air intake vent surrounded by circular fog lamp clusters. You can notice the round wheel arches and black cladding just below the doors. At the back, it sports squarish taillamps, tall bumper and a larger tailgate. The C3 Aircross measures around 4.3 metres in length, thus making it as long as the Hyundai Creta. The SUV offers a ground clearance of 200mm.
Interior, Features
Inside, the Citroen C3 Aircross will offer a fully digital instrument cluster with a tachometer that’s missing on the C3 hatchback. Though, the 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and dashboard design will be carried forward from its younger sibling.
The SUV’s 7-seater version will have roof-mounted AC vents for second and third row passengers along with blower control. There will be USB charging ports for the third row passengers. It might also come with day and night IRVM and cruise control. While its 5-seater version comes with a boot capacity of 444-litres, the 7-seater version offers a luggage area of 511-litres with the third row seats down.
Safety Features
With respect to safety, the new C3 Aircross might offer 6 airbags, electronic stability program, a rear view camera with parking sensors, hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system and ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution).
Platform
The Citroen C3 Aircross underpins the CMP modular platform that’s also used in the C3 hatchback and global-spec Jeep and Fiat cars. The architecture will help the company achieve competitive pricing for the SUV.
Engine, Gearbox Options
Under the hood, the new Citroen SUV will empoly a 1.2L turbo petrol engine that’s good enough for 110bhp and 190Nm. Transmission duties are performed by a 6-speed manual gearbox.
