Maruti Suzuki Jimny – Top 10 Features Highlights

Maruti Suzuki had showcased the 5-door Jimny lifestyle SUV at the 2023 Auto Expo. The off-roader can be booked online or at authorised NEXA dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000. It is expected to be launched in the Q2, 2023, most probably by May. It will be available in two variants – Zeta and Alpha – in manual and automatic avatar.

Zeta Variant

Exterior Front & rear welded tow hooks, gunmetal grey grille with chrome plating, halogen headlamps, 15-inch steel wheels, unpainted side mirrors, drip rails, hard rooftop, and tailgate-mounted spare wheel.
Interior All-black colour scheme, analogue instrument cluster with colour TFT multi-information display (MID), floor console tray, utility screw holes, and fabric upholstery.

In terms of proportions, the Jimny is 3985mm long, 1645mm wide and 1720mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2590mm. The 5-door model offers a boot space of 208-litres, which can be extended by folding down the rear seats.

3. Off-road credentials

The new SUV has an approach angle of 36°, a departure angle of 50°, and a break-over angle of 24°. It is based on a ladder-on-frame chassis. It has a ground clearance of 210mm, which is more than the Force Gurkha.

4. Suzuki AllGrip Pro AWD setup

This SUV comes fitted with Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro AWD setup, which is the most capable version of Suzuki’s AllGrip tech. It comes with a low-ratio gear that multiplies engine torque and limits speeds, and improves the off-road driving. Driver can switch between two-wheel-drive high (2H) and four-wheel-drive high (4H) for off-road conditions. For extreme off-road conditions, the SUV will have four-wheel-drive low (4L).
