Mahindra & Mahindra has been testing the 5-door Thar in India for a very long time. During its testing phase, we have seen multiple test mules revealing interesting design and interior details. The latest set of spy images confirms that the SUV has reached in its final testing phase and the spotted model appears close to production. Once launched, the Mahindra Thar 5-door will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Jimny that’s ready to hit roads by May 2023.
The carmaker hasn’t yet revealed its debut and launch details. Though, the 5-door Thar is expected to be showcased in the second half of 2023. Its market launch could happen towards the end of this year or sometime next year. With rugged styling, 5/7-seats layout and off-road capacities, the longer version of Thar will come as a more practical option for city buyers. The SUV is expected to cost from Rs 15 lakh onwards.
