All-New Maruti Jimny 5-Door SUV – Price Expectations

Maruti Suzuki Fornx and Jimny 5-door SUVs are the two much-awaited new car launches from the Indo-Japanese automaker in the country. Both models can be booked at any authorized Nexa dealership or online at the company’s official website. While prices of the Maruti Fronx will be announced in March, the Maruti Jimny will go on sale in May 2023. The Fronx is a sub-4 meter crossover that will be put up against the Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite. The off-road 5-door SUV, on the other hand, won’t have any direct rival in India.

The carmaker has confirmed that the Jimny 5-door model lineup will come in two variants – Zeta and Alpha. Powering the SUV is a 1.5L K15B petrol engine paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. The motor, which is boosted with mild hybrid tech, produces a peak power of 105bhp and 134Nm of torque. The new Maruti SUV comes with Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system with a manual transfer case and low range gearbox with 2WD-high, 4WD-high and 4WD-low.

It also gets brake limited slip differential, hill hold assist and hill descent control.

Features such as a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system with the smartphone connectivity, Arkayms tuned premium sound system, automatic climate control, leather wrapped steering wheel, power retractable ORVMs, cruise control, push button engine start/stop, automatic headlamps, alloy wheels, fog lamps, dark green glass, LED headlamps with DRLs, body-coloured side mirrors and headlamp washer are reserved for the top-end Alpha trim.

As far as pricing is concerned, the new Maruti Jimny 5-door SUV is expected to cost around Rs 10 lakh for the base variant and up to Rs 12.50 lakh for the fully-loaded model.
