Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) is planning to showcase as many as 16 products at the 2023 Auto Expo, which will be hosted at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. The list includes the Baleno-based SUV coupe and the five-door Jimny as the former will go on sale around April and the latter will reach showrooms around August 2023.
Besides the duo, MSIL will also unveil an electric SUV concept previewing the YY8 and the flex-fuel powered Wagon R. At the premiere motoring show, Tata Motors will reveal the production version of the Punch EV and it will be launched by the second or third quarter of next year. It will be underpinned by the new Sigma platform and adopt Ziptron architecture.
The chances of Tata unveiling the facelifted version of the Harrier do exist at the Auto Expo but no official confirmation has been made yet. If it arrives, it will likely be equipped with a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a 360-degree camera system, ADAS functionalities, etc.
Toyota’s luxury arm Lexus will launch the RX next month at the same motoring exhibition and it could be priced at around Rs. 1.2 crore. It will be powered by a 2.5-litre strong hybrid mill delivering 250 hp. Lexus will bring in the RX 350h variant and it will have a longer wheelbase and a lower roofline.
The exterior is influenced by the Next Chapter styling philosophy and on the inside, it will adorn a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless smartphone charging, vegan synthetic leather and so on to compete against BMW X5. The MG Hector facelift could be displayed at the 2023 Auto Expo as well featuring alongside the Air EV.
It will feature a 14-inch touchscreen HD display, next-gen iSmart tech, a revised front fascia with a diamond mesh grille, sleeker LED headlamps, an updated bumper and new DRLs, etc. As for Mahindra, which will not be at the Auto Expo, the prices of the XUV400 will be revealed next month.
