Upcoming New Maruti MPV – ADAS, Sunroof, Hybrid Tech

Toyota Kirloskar Motor recently unveiled the all-new Innova Hycross for the Indian market. While its official bookings have been commenced, the prices will be announced in January 2023. Maruti Suzuki will also bring in a C-MPV in fiscal year 2022-23, based on the new Toyota Innova Hycross. It will be the first re-badged Toyota product to be sold by Maruti Suzuki in India. Being a premium product, the new Maruti MPV will be retailed via the Nexa dealership network.

A few design changes are expected to be made on the new Maruti MPV. It might feature a differently-designed grille, front bumper and headlamps. The rear profile could also have some distinct elements. Similar to the Innova Hycross, Maruti Suzuki’s three-row MPV will be based on the monocoque platform and come with FWD (front-wheel drive) system. Interior is expected to have different colour theme, while the layout and features will be similar to the Innova Hycross.

The higher trims will offer ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) with features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert and automatic high beam. It will be the first Maruti Suzuki model to come with the ADAS tech. The MPV will also be packed with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 9-speaker JBL sound system, dual zone climate control, powered driver seat with memory function, powered leg rest for the second row passengers, 360 degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system and hill hold assist.

Powertrain system of the new Maruti MPV will include a 172bhp, 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol and a 2.0L petrol with Toyota’s new-gen strong hybrid unit. The latter one will deliver a combined power out of 184bhp. Mileage figure of Maruti Suzuki’s three-row MPV is expected to be similar to the Toyota Innova Hycross that delivers 21.1kmpl (strong hybrid).
