Maruti Jimny

The Indo-Japanese automaker will showcase the 5-door version of the Jimny SUV at the 2023 Auto Expo in January. Its market launch is likely to happen before next year’s festive season. If reports are to be believed, the new Maruti Jimny will be offered in two seating configurations – 5-seats and 7-seats (optional). The model might be packed with features such as a large 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, USB charging ports, steering mounted controls, rear AC vents, etc. Powering the new 5-door Maruti Jimny will be a 1.5L K15 petrol engine making 100bhp with 130Nm. 5-Door Mahindra Thar

Mahindra & Mahindra is currently testing the 5-door Thar in the country. It’s one of the much-awaited upcoming new off-road SUVs that could be put on display at the 2023 Auto Expo. It might go on sale in the end of next fiscal year. The 5-door Mahindra Thar will share its ladder frame chassis and the pentalink rear suspension with the Scorpio-N. With longer wheelbase and length, it will provide more cabin space than the 3-door Thar. The off-road SUV might come with 6 and 7-seating layouts. Engine setup is likely to include a 2.0L turbo petrol and a 2.2L turbo diesel unit, borrowed from the 3-door Thar. It can be had with either a manual or an automatic gearbox. More details here…

5-Door Force Gurkha

Force Gurkha 5-Door Spied

The 5-door Force Gurkha has already started reaching dealerships in the country. The model will sit on a longer wheelbase than its 3-door version. Its 6-seater version will have two captain chairs in the second and third rows, while the 7-seater model will offer bench-type seats in the middle row and captain seats in the third row. The SUV’s higher trim might come with the 18-inch alloy wheels and the lower variants could be offered with the smaller steel wheels. For power, the 5-door Force Gurkha will feature the same 2.6L turbo diesel engine that does duty in its 3-door sibling. The oil burner returns a claimed power of 91bhp and 250Nm of torque. It will come with the 4X4 drivetrain system with the mechanically lockable front and rear differentials. More details here…
