2023 MG Hector Strong Hybrid Unveiled – Specs, Exterior, Interior
2023 Wuling Almaz strong hybrid concept was recently showcased at this year’s Indonesia Electric Motor Show (IEMS) in Jakarta. Just so you know, Almaz is sold as MG Hector in India. The SUV receives a few changes inside and out along with the strong hybrid powertrain. The model features a new 2.0L petrol engine with two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack. The power figures and electric range of the setup are still under the wraps. If reports are to be believed, the company might reveal technical specifications in October 2023.
Based on the Almaz RS, the SUV’s strong hybrid concept (2023 MG Hector strong hybrid) features blacked-out elements on the grille, pillars, wing mirrors and roof, RS-specific front and rear bumpers, blacked-out fog lamp assembly, lower air dams and RS badge. Unlike the Wuling Almaz RS that comes with the 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, the strong hybrid model features 18-inch units.
On the feature front, the Wuling Almaz RS (regular model) offers ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), connected car tech, wireless smartphone charging, upgraded touchscreen infotainment system and new steering mounted control buttons.
2023 MG Hector Strong Hybrid India Launch?
As of now, there is no official word on its India launch. Considering the growing hybrid SUV market, we expect that the company might evaluate the Hector strong hybrid for the Indian market. Even if India is on the launch radar, it’s likely to come sometime next year. At present, the MG Hector is available with three engines – a 1.5L mild hybrid petrol, a 1.5L turbo petrol and a 2.0L diesel.
The British automaker will soon give a mid-life update to the MG Hector in India. The SUV’s facelifted version will have a new dual-tone interior with a bigger 14-inch portrait HD touchscreen infotainment system. The info unit will support Next-Gen i-SMART technology and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It will also have a fully digital 7-inch configurable instrument console, leather wrapped armrest and a few more new goodies.
