Maruti Grand Vitara Prices Leaked – Rs 9.50 Lakh to Rs 18 Lakh

We informed you earlier that the upcoming Maruti Grand Vitara SUV could be priced as low as Rs 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom). A new media report claims that the upcoming SUV will cost between Rs 9.50 lakh and Rs 18 lakh. However, MSIL is yet to make an official announcement on the same. Official prices of the new Vitara SUV will be released in the month of September 2022.

The new Grand Vitara will be offered with mild hybrid and strong hybrid powertrains. The mild hybrid version will come in 4 trim levels – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The manual version is priced between Rs 9.50 lakh and Rs 15.50 lakh, while the automatic model will come in price bracket of Rs 12.50 lakh to Rs 15 lakh.

Maruti Grand Vitara Specs

The new Grand Vitara is based on Suzuki’s Global-C platform that underpins the new S-Cross and the soon-to-be-launched Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Production of the new SUVs will commence from August at Toyota’s production facility in Bidadi, Karnataka.

The SUV is available in 9 different colour options – 6 monotone & 3 dual-tone. The monotone colour options include Splendid Silver, Nexa Blue, Grandeur Grey, Arctic White, Nexa Blue and Chestnut Brown. The dual-tone shades are Opulent Red with Black roof, Arctic White with Black roof and Splendid Silver with Black roof.

The new Maruti Grand Vitara will be offered with two engine options – a 1.5-litre K15C Dual-Jet petrol with Smart Hybrid system and a 1.5L TNGA petrol with Intelligent Hybrid Tech. The naturally-aspirated engine produces 102bhp and 136.8Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The manual version will come with AWD system with manual gearbox. The AllGrip AWD system offers 4 driving modes – Auto, Sand, Snow and Lock. The manual FWD is claimed to return 21.11kmpl, while the AT FWD and MT AWD offers 20.58kmpl and 19.38kmpl respectively.

The strong hybrid version gets a Toyota’s sourced 3-cylinder 1.5L TNGA Atkinson cycle engine coupled to a 177.6V lithium-ion battery. The engine produces 92.45PS of power, while the maximum usable power and torque stands at 115.5PS and 122Nm respectively. It comes with Toyota’s e-CVT, which is also offered on the global Yaris Cross hybrid. The hybrid version is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 27.97kmpl.
