Mahindra XUV700 – 1 Lakh Bookings, 84 Weeks Waiting Period
Mahindra has announced that it has delivered first batch of 14,000 XUV700 SUVs by January 26, 2022. The company has received a cumulative bookings of around 1 lakh for the new Mahindra XUV700. The SUV has received an overwhelming response; however, the ongoing global shortage of semi-conductor chips have increased the waiting period up to almost 2 years in few cases.
Mahindra had started delivering the petrol version of the XUV700 from October 30, while diesel variants deliveries were started from November-end. The SUV received unprecedented response, as it bagged 50,000 orders within 2 days. The booking numbers increased to 65,000 in just 2 weeks. Mahindra has added another 35,000 orders in the past 3 months.
Mahindra currently has a backlog of 86,000 XUV700s. The top-spec AX7 Luxury trim comes with a waiting period of around 84 weeks (up to 1 year), while the AX3, AX6 and AX7 commands a waiting period of around 8 months. The base MX trim comes with a waiting period of around 7 months.
The report claims that the new Mahindra XUV700 is still in high demand, and people are willing to buy the new model despite long wait. The new XUV700 is the most feature-loaded SUV in its category, and this is one reason behind its huge popularity.
Mahindra dealers are reportedly suggesting customers to opt for lower variants, which come with shorter waiting periods. The XUV700 will soon receive a new AX7 Smart trim, which will be positioned below the top-spec AX7 Luxury variant.
The new Mahindra XUV700 is available in the price bracket of Rs 12.95 lakh and Rs 23.80 lakh. The new Mahindra XUV700 is offered with two engine options – a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel and a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol. The petrol engine produces 200bhp and 380Nm of torque, while the diesel engine offers two states of tunes – 155bhp/360Nm for MX trim and 185bhp/420Nm (450NM with AT) with AdrenoX AX trim. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The diesel engine offers 4 driving modes – Zip, Zap, Zoom and Custom.
