RE Scram 411 – Affordable Himalayan Coming In February 2022
We informed you earlier that Royal Enfield is working on a new scrambler version of the Himalayan motorcycle. Reportedly to be called the RE Scram 411, the new motorcycle will be more affordable than the adventure sibling. A new media report claims that the new Scram 411 Scrambler will be launched in the first quarter of 2022, most probably in February.
The new RE Scram 411 has been spotted several times on the Indian roads while testing. In fact, a clay model of the motorcycle has also been leaked on the Internet. The road-oriented and more affordable model will have more scrambler like design. Royal Enfield will make cosmetic changes to the Himalayan to give it a scrambler feel.
The clay model images reveal that the motorcycle will miss out on front windscreen, the side skeleton and the luggage rack. Instead of the large 21-inch front wheel, the RE Scram 411 comes with an 18-inch one. The motorcycle will also miss out on the front fork gaiters.
The new RE Scram 411 will receive a new headlamp cowl, side shrouds and new front mudguard. The rear LED tail-light seems identical to the regular model. The motorcycle is likely to retain the same 411cc, single-cylinder engine that powers the Himalayan. This air-oil cooled engine produces 24.3bhp of power and 32Nm of torque. It is paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
Royal Enfield is currently working on a more powerful version of the Himalayan. This version is currently under development at the UK development centre. It is being said that the new engine could produce close to around 30bhp of power.
