2022 Mahindra Scorpio To Offer Off-Road Drive Modes – Spied
After the successful launch of new XUV700, Mahindra is now gearing up for the launch of the much-awaited next-gen Scorpio SUV. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio has been spotted multiple times, and the recent spy image reveals some interesting details.
The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio interior spyshot reveal that it will come with off-road drive mode selector. A rotary selector is clearly visible placed right behind the gearshift lever on the centre console. It is expected that the new model could offer 4 off-road drive mode settings. The drive modes could include Rock, Snow, Mud and 4 High and 4 Low for 4WD system.
Also visible is a large touchscreen infotainment system, dominating the centre console. The vehicle gets more conventional dashboard design, while the central console has multiple buttons for different functions. AC vents are placed on either sides of the touchscreen, while the Audio and AC controls are positioned on the lower side of the Infotainment unit.
On a closer look, it is visible that the spotted model has wireless charging system. It also gets cup holder on the centre console. Moreover, armrest is also visible in the spy image. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will also come with automatic AC, electric sunroof, captain seats and the forward-facing third-row seats.
The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will be significantly bigger and has more features than the outgoing model. It will be based on the new ladder-on-frame chassis that also underpins the new Thar lifestyle SUV. The new Scorpio will be offered with a de-tuned version of the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder mHawk turbo engine that powers the XUV700 MX variant. This engine produces 155bhp and 360Nm of torque. It will also receive a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that is likely to produce around 150bhp and 300Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. Rear-wheel-drive layout will be offered as standard, while the top-spec model will get AWD system.
