Tata Punch To Get 27 Connected Car Features; More Details Emerge
Tata Motors is all set to launch the much-awaited new Punch sub-compact SUV on 4th October, 2021. The company has already released multiple teaser videos, revealing the exterior design and interior of the SUV. The latest teaser reveals the Harman-sourced touchscreen infotainment unit in the Tata Punch micro SUV.
The Tata Punch is the second model based on the ALFA-ARC (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture), which also underpins the Altroz. The car design is based on the IMPACT 2.0 language, which we have already seen on the latest Tata cars including Harrier and the Altroz.

The new Tata Punch features the latest Harman touchscreen unit, which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It is a free-standing unit positioned above the centre air vents. The small SUV will also come with IRA connected car technology that offers a range of 27 connected car features.
The new sub-compact SUV will be offered in 4 trim levels – Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. Dimensionally, the new Punch is 3,840mm in lenth, 1,800mm in width and 1,635mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,450mm. It will have a boot space of 366-litres, which is 21-litres more than the Altroz hatchback (345-litres). The top-spec variant of the car will ride on 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. It will have a ground clearance of 187-litres.

The new model will be powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, Revotron petrol engine that also powers the Tiago, Tigor and the Altroz. This engine is capable of producing 85bhp at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 113Nm at 3,300rpm. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT.
The AMT version of the Tata Punch will also get a segment-first ‘Traction Pro’ mode, which senses when the vehicle is stuck in slush. This prompts the driver to activate the traction model to guide the driver out of this situation. The sub-compact car will also get ‘Dyna Pro Technology’, which enhances the water wading capacity. The top-spec model will also come with engine start/stop system, and fog lamps with cornering function.
Some design highlights will include a Harrier-like split headlamps setup with LED DRLs on top and projector headlamps on the lower bumper. The small SUV will get 90 degree wide opening doors, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheel, cruise control, multi-functional steering wheel and rain sensing wipers.
