2021 Audi Q5 India Launch In November – 4 Key Details
Audi India will announce prices of the updated Q5 SUV in November, 2021. The model that made its global debut in June 2020, comes with improved styling, tech-laden interior and the BS6-compliant turbo petrol engine. The carmaker says that the new 2021 Audi Q5 facelift “combines a sporty character with excellent everyday usability and comes with a wide array of infotainment and assistance options”.
Expected Prices, Rivals
Just so you know, the Q5 was discontinued with the implementation of the BS6 emission norms in the country. The SUV’s new model will be assembled locally in India and is estimated to cost from Rs 55 lakh onwards (ex-showroom). Here, the new Audi Q5 facelift will take on the BMW X3, Land Rover Discovery Sport and Mercedes-Benz GLC.
Improved Styling
Talking about the cosmetic changes, the new Audi Q5 features a larger grille with honeycomb pattern, chiseled bumper, new LED headlamps, tweaked bumper and blacked out inserts at the front end. The SUV also gets bigger side intakes, newly-designed alloy wheels, new taillamps with digital OLED technology and revised rear bumper.
Tech-Loaded
Minimal changes have been made inside the cabin. One of the most significant updates come in the form of the larger 10.1-inch MMI infotainment system placed above the centre console. The unit offers Amazon Alexa integration and connected car technology. The digital driver’s display has also been updated. Some of its other key highlights include ambient lighting, three zone climate control, powered front seats, wireless phone charger and cruise control.
BS6 Turbo Petrol Engine
As mentioned above, the new Audi Q5 facelift will come with the same 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine borrowed from the A6. Though, the motor has been updated to meet the BS6 emission standards. The gasoline unit makes a top power of 245PS and 370Nm of torque. Power will be delivered via Quattro AWD (all-wheel drive) system. The SUV will have a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
