Tata Nexon To Get An Update This Week?

Tata Motors has officially announced to launch 2 new SUVs – the Gravitas and the HBX micro SUV in the country before the end of this financial year. Not just new products, the homegrown automaker will also introduce special editions and new variants of the existing range. It is expected that Tata Motors will soon update the popular Nexon SUV line-up.

The company has released couple of teasers with tagline “You are coming closer to experience the adventures of the #NexLevel”. The exact details are yet to be announced, but it is believed that Tata Motors could introduce a new special variant or the dual-clutch automatic version of the Nexon.

In fact, Tata Nexon DCT has already been spotted multiple times on the Indian roads. Previous reports suggest that the Nexon DCT could feature a Punch-sourced 7-speed DT-1 dual-clutch gearbox. This gearbox is also likely to be offered with the Altroz premium hatchback. It is expected that the new DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission) will be more efficient and refined and have smooth shifting than the AMT (Automated Manual Transmission).

The new DCT gearbox is likely to be offered with the Nexon petrol version, which is powered by a BSVI compliant 1.2-litre turbocharged engine. This engine is capable of producing 118bhp of power and 170Nm of torque. The diesel version is equipped with a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine that produces 108bhp and 260Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT unit.

The sub-4 meter SUV segment is all set to witness the arrival of new brands including Nissan, Renault, Citroen and MG Motors. Kia Motors will soon introduce the Sonet compact SUV, while Nissan will introduce the Magnite compact SUV. Renault and Citroen are testing the HBC compact SUV and the C3 Sporty respectively.
